On <a href=\"https:\/\/www.housingwire.com\/articles\/fhfa-vantagescore-pilot-gses-hud\/\">Wednesday<\/a>, <strong>Federal Housing Finance Agency<\/strong> (FHFA) Director <a href=\"https:\/\/www.housingwire.com\/tag\/bill-pulte\/\">Bill Pulte<\/a> announced announced a rollout allowing the use of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.housingwire.com\/articles\/transunion-vantagescore-price-cut\/\">VantageScore 4.0<\/a> exclusively for loans delivered to <strong>Fannie Mae <\/strong>and <strong>Freddie Mac<\/strong>, future use of <strong>FICO 10T<\/strong> and a new pricing grid that reflects the updated models.<\/p>\n<p><strong>U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development <\/strong>(HUD) Secretary <a href=\"https:\/\/www.housingwire.com\/tag\/scott-turner\/\">Scott Turner<\/a> also signaled the use of <strong>FICO<\/strong> 10T and VantageScore 4.0 for <strong>Federal Housing Administration <\/strong>(<a href=\"https:\/\/www.housingwire.com\/articles\/fha-premiums-loan-fees\/\">FHA<\/a>) loans in the coming months, without providing more details.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>During a press conference the same day, Pulte said Freddie Mac had already received about $10 million in VantageScore 4.0-only loans as part of the pilot.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Under a limited rollout, about 20 approved lenders may choose between VantageScore 4.0 and Classic FICO scores using tri-merge credit reports. Lenders not participating must continue using Classic FICO scores from all three bureaus.
